Meet the Team

Jennifer Barron
Owner-Operator
Hi, I’m Jenn Barron; Owner/Operator of Paws & Purrs Pet Salon in Spotsylvania, VA. I am a certified dog groomer with 13 years’ experience, with styling strengths in hand scissoring, terrier clips and hand stripping. My favorite breeds to groom are West Highland White Terriers & Scottish Terriers.
My husband Dave and I share our home with a number of senior pets, including two dogs, 11 and 12 year old ‘Nico’ and ‘Searsha’; two goldfish named ‘Gumball’ & ’Ocho’ and two cats, 12 year old ‘Hoot’ and ‘James’, who’s at least 10, since he’s been with us that long after adopting him. We adore our animal family, though I must admit, (sorry Dave) Nico is my whole heart and the absolute love of my life.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking from scratch, freeze drying healthy food for my human and animal family members, reading science fiction novels and watching horror movies with my husband.
Adhering to current industry trends and best practice, I take a great deal of pride in ensuring that my salon remains 100% compliant with PPGSA standards of care and safety & sanitation toward maintaining a clean, efficient and fear-free environment. To that end, I staff my own grooming station right alongside a dedicated team of talented associates; I regularly attend a host of relevant continuing education seminars and maintain current certifications in Pet CPR and First Aid.
At Paws and Purrs, we owe every assurance to our clients that their four-legged family members are as precious to us as they are to them. Thus, we look very forward to having you meet our ‘family’ and sincerely welcome the privilege of serving yours.

Family is everything
When I am not taking care of your babies I am taking care of my daughter Layla.
I love all animals but my favorite are cats and German Shepherds.
Sandy Testa
Groomer
Hi, I’m Sandy Testa; a certified dog groomer with more than 8 years of diverse canine stylist expertise.
Though I consider myself a ‘big dog girl’, I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for smaller pups too, with shih tzus and miniature schnauzers being among my favorite breeds.
I’ve always had a sincere respect and regard for all animals and have always had a knack for easily befriending each of my clients, thus alleviating anxiety and enhancing the overall spa-day experience for each of our four-legged friends.
In my off time, I love hanging out with my own best friend, a 9 year-old boxer named Rosco, spending time with family and friends, watching (and playing) football, or reading the latest romance novel.
I’m proud to share that I was hired and initially trained by Jenn and am fortunate to have spent most of my career ‘under her wing’ and by her side. As such, I am pleased to be a member of the Paws and Purrs Team and look very forward to serving you and yours.
